Work Permit UK

The UK is considered one of the best places to work and live in. It is an exciting place with a lot of opportunities for those who have the skills, education, and experience to fit into this country’s workforce.

Skilled workers are welcome in the UK under the Tier 2 visa program. Under this program, candidates whose occupations are listed on the Tier 2 Shortage Occupation List can apply to work in the UK on a long-term basis. Popular professions in the UK on the list are IT, finance, teaching, healthcare, and engineering. Pi Overseas can help you take advantage of this talent shortage in the UK and position yourself to gain a work permit in the UK.

A Tier 2 visa is a work permit issued by the UK Home Office to skilled workers from outside the European Economic Area (EEA) who wish to come and work in the UK for the duration of up to five years.

The Tier 2 visa route is split into three categories, each with its own requirements:

  • Tier 2 General Visa: This category is for workers who have a skilled job offer from a licensed sponsor in the UK. The salary requirement for this category is £30,000 per year.
  • Tier 2 Intra-Company Transfer Visa: This category is for people transferring from one branch of their company based outside the UK to another branch of the same company based in the UK. The salary requirement for this category is £24,800 per year.
  • Tier 2 Youth Mobility Scheme Visa: This category allows young people who have never worked in the UK before (or whose only previous work experience was as part of a youth mobility scheme) to come and take up a job in Britain for up to two years. To qualify, you must be aged between 18 and 30 years old and earn at least £2
