The Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program (OINP) is an immigration pathway that allows the government of Ontario to nominate and select individuals for immigration to Ontario. The OINP is actually one of the most dynamic and varied programs in all of Canada’s Provincial Nominee Program (PNPs). They have categories and streams that are specially designed to welcome graduates, skilled workers, and business immigrants.
As per the consensus, Ontario is considered to be the crown jewel of the Canadian landscape. Ontario is a huge province located in east-central Canada and is actually home to the country’s largest city. Toronto, the national capital, Ottawa, and many other cities have been known to be home to many newcomers from all around the world.
But the question is how to immigrate to Ontario. Aside from the Federal programs like the Express Entry program, the Ontario Immigration department offers a different and unique pathway to Canada.
In some of the cases, it might be possible that an applicant to OINP is also in the Federal Express Entry pool. As a matter of fact, the OINP includes three Express Entry-aligned streams. In the cases of Express Entry aligned programs, all the applicants with an OINP nomination receive an additional 600 Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) points. Getting these points certainly makes sure that the applicant receives an Invitation to Apply (ITA) as soon as the IRCC conducts a draw from the Express Entry pool.
The Express Entry Human Capital Priorities Stream is particularly now in demand after being introduced in 2015. There are other streams as well like Skilled Trades streams for Express Entry applicants having working experience in trade occupation and French-Speaking Skilled Worker Stream for Express Entry applicants who are well versed in French and English both.
The applicant can also immigrate to Ontario via OINP, without even going through the Express Entry program. International graduates and students take benefit from the streams aimed at welcoming newcomers at various education levels.
In the end, there are streams that are designed to focus on companies and individuals having a business experience.
The table given below is a representation of the stream available for immigration by the Ontario Immigration Authorities. All the information related to migrating to Ontario with a particular stream is given in the table.
